Type of property: 17 Storey Hotel in the dock area
Overview: The client was seeking to sell the Hotel to a new investor but was concerned over the workmanship following completion of substantial external and internal refurbishment works, during which a subcontractor went into liquidation and alternate suppliers were introduced with different levels of workmanship. We were asked to review and understand the fiull extent of necessary works to the building, identify, schedule and cost and repairs and provide a report that the Purchaser could rely on.
Outcome: The survey and report highlighted a number of issues, indicated potential repair costs and noted matters requiring further inspection. The document aided the sale by making sure both parties were fully aware of the financial points associated with the condition of the building. The sale proceeded smoothly to completion.
